Apple Pay is available on selected Apple devices. Your child must be aged 13+ to use this service, and be on version 10.6.0 or newer of the NatWest Rooster Money app.

Your child has their own Apple ID
The device your child will be using is verified on your NatWest Rooster Money app (you can read about how to verify your child's device here)
Your child’s NatWest Rooster Money app has been on their device for at least 30 days
Your child’s name on their NatWest Rooster Money profile is an exact match to the name on their Apple ID (if the name of your child is different in the app you can learn how to edit this here)
Use the right device:
To add the Rooster Card to the Apple Wallet you will first need to make sure your child is logged into their own profile on the desired device and follow the below instructions:
Click the Card on their homepage
Click ‘Card Settings’ and then ‘Get Ready for Apple Pay’
They will then see a screen in-app with the checklist that they need to complete to add their Rooster Card to the Apple Wallet
Verify your child's age - Apple Pay is only available to children aged 13+, as per Apple requirements
Apple Pay is only available to children aged 13 years or older. You will need to upload your child's proof of age document before your child can continue adding their Rooster Card to the Apple Wallet, the only documents that we can accept are:
Valid passport
Birth Certificate
When uploading your document, follow these tips on taking the best photo:
Make sure all four corners of the document are in the photo
Check for any overhead lights that can create glare on the image
Make sure the image is not blurry and that all information can be clearly read
Upload a recent image, ideally a new photo rather than one in saved in your photo gallery
You can read more about the proof of age process by clicking the button below
Verify your child’s phone number:
As part of the Apple Pay set-up checklist your child will also need to verify their phone number, this can be done via the child's profile by following these steps:
In their own profile your child needs to select ‘Menu’ and then 'Confirm your Phone Number'
On the next screen they should enter their phone number
They will then be sent a One Time Password to enter in order to verify their Phone Number
Verifying your child’s phone number is only required to confirm that the device they are using is their own device, NatWest Rooster Money does not store this phone number once the device has been verified.
Your child can edit or update their phone number in the app by logging into their profile, then selecting Menu > My Settings > Profile settings to view and change their phone number.
Once you’ve completed the actions on the checklist, your child will be Apple Pay ready

Why has the Rooster Card been declined using Apple Pay?
Why has the Rooster Card been declined using Apple Pay?
A transaction made with the Rooster Card via Apple Pay can decline for the same reasons as the physical card.
You can check:
That the Rooster Card hasn’t been marked as frozen in the NatWest Rooster Money app
The balance in their Card pot has enough funds to pay for the transaction
The balance left on any daily, weekly or monthly spending limits that you have set
Make sure that the card in the Apple Wallet is still the most current card

Do I have to reset the contactless limit when my child has made 5 transactions via Apple Pay?
No.
As each transaction is approved using your child’s biometric data (Face ID or Touch ID) each transaction already meets the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirement and doesn’t count towards your contactless limit.
