You must be on version 9.4.0 of the NatWest Rooster Money app. you can check your current version from your Family Dashboard by tapping Menu, and then checking at the bottom on the Menu screen to see your app version. You can install the app update from the Apple App store or Google Play store.
For new customers
Once you’ve downloaded the NatWest Rooster Money app, you will need to create an account for yourself and your family.
The setup process has 3 simple stages:
Sign Up – Create your parent account
Your Family – Add your child or children
Your Account – Choose cards, tracker options, and checkout
Make sure that you sign up with your full legal name, so that we can match it to the legal name you used on your bank account.
As soon as you’ve completed sign up and added your family you will be prompted in the final stage to follow the steps the connect your NatWest, RBS, or Ulster Bank account.
You’ll be directed to your online banking app to confirm the connection, and once you’re back on the Rooster Money app you’ll be able to get the Rooster Card free for up to 3 kids (other fees may apply).
For existing customers moving over to the NatWest Group offer
One you've connected your bank account, the offer will automatically be added to your existing plans. As soon as your current subscriptions end, you will be moved over to the free plan (other fees may apply).
To connect:
From the Family Dashboard, select Menu
From Menu, select Rooster Money
From this screen you should see an offer box with more information. Tap on this box and select your bank
Follow the steps on screen to connect your bank
To check if the offer has been applied, head back to Rooster Money (via Menu) to see the status of your subscriptions. You should now see 'NatWest customer benefit' against any subscription that will move over to the NatWest Group subscription once the paid plan has ended.
For returning customers
If you were previously a Rooster Card customer and would like to renew an old account to take advantage of the offer, you can do this via the app.
If your previous account was cancelled automatically because we were unable to collect payment for the invoice, then you may need help from the team to get set-up and you can read more about that here.
Before renewing your old subscription, you will need to connect your NatWest Group bank account to your Rooster Money account.
From the Family Dashboard, select Menu
From Menu, select Rooster Money
From this screen you should see an offer box with more information. Tap on this box and select your bank
Follow the steps on screen to connect your bank
Once you've done this, you can renew your old account
Head back to Rooster Money (via Menu)
Tap the pen and paper icon next to each expired subscription and select the option to renew. Follow the instructions to renew your account
If your account has been closed for less than 3 months, your existing Rooster Cards will begin to work again
If your account has been closed for 3 months or longer, you will need to order a new Rooster Card via the app
