Eligible NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank current account customers can get a Rooster Card subscription for free for up to 3 kids (other fees may apply).

What are the requirements for signing up to the subscription?

To be eligible for the free Rooster Card subscription, you must be a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster account holder, over 18, a UK resident, registered for either Mobile Banking or Online Banking, and with child(ren) between the ages of six and 17.

As a new customer, how do I connect my bank to my Rooster account?

You must be on version 9.3.0 or newer of the NatWest Rooster Money app. You can check your current version from your Family Dashboard by tapping Menu, and then checking at the bottom on the Menu screen to see your app version. You can install the app update from the Apple App store or Google Play store.

Once you’ve downloaded the NatWest Rooster Money app, you will need to create an account for yourself and your family. Make sure that you sign up with your full legal name, so that we can match it to the legal name you used on your bank account.

As soon as you’ve created your Rooster Money account and added at least one Child profile, you can head to the Menu in the top right hand corner of the Parent Dashboard and select Rooster Card.

Once you’re on the ‘Choose Your Plan’ page, you’ll see the NatWest Group offer box and can tap to read about the NatWest Group subscription offer in more detail. Select the Bank that you want to connect your Rooster Money account to and follow the steps to connect your Bank.

You’ll be directed to your online banking app to confirm the connection, and once you’re back on the Rooster Money app you’ll be able to get up to 3 Rooster Card subscriptions for free (other fees may apply)

As an existing Rooster customer, how do I connect my bank to my Rooster account?

If you are already a Rooster Money customer, with an active Rooster Card in your family, you can still connect your bank to your Rooster Money app. Once you open your app, you can head to the Menu in the top right hand corner of the Parent Dashboard and select Rooster Card. You will see the NatWest Group offer box on the top of your screen and can tap to read about the NatWest Group subscription offer in more detail.

Select the Bank that you want to connect your Rooster Money account to and follow the steps to connect your Bank.

You’ll be directed to your online banking app to confirm the connection, and once you’re back on the Rooster Money app, you’ll see that a free subscription has been added to the end of your existing Rooster Card subscriptions (other fees may apply).

If you’re a Rooster Money customer but you’ve never had a Rooster Card in your family before, you can still tap the Menu and select Rooster Card to find the offer box in the ‘Choose your Plan’ page and follow the steps from there to connect your Bank. Once the connection to your Bank has been successfully made, when you are returned to the app you’ll be able to get the Rooster Card free for up to 3 kids as long as you have an open account with NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster bank (other fees may apply).

I don’t have a NatWest Group Bank account, but the secondary parent/guardian on my account does, can we still take advantage of the offer?

Absolutely. The Secondary on your account can login to their app, head to the Menu in the top right hand corner of the Parent Dashboard, tap on ‘Manage Account’ and then tap on ‘Connect to Bank’. From there, they can select their Bank and follow the steps to connect their bank to your Rooster Money account.

Once the connection has successfully been made, your secondary won’t be able to order the Rooster Cards for your family, only a Primary Parent can order the Rooster Cards. Just open your app (make sure it’s refreshed), and tap ‘Order card’ next to your child to add their name to a card and place your order.

Do I still get a one month free subscription?

Yes. Once you’ve successfully connected your bank account and created your Rooster Card subscription you’ll still get a one month trial to try out all the Rooster Card benefits, once this ends you’ll automatically be moved over to your free subscription. Other fees may apply.

What if I need a Rooster Card for more than 3 children?

The NatWest Group subscription offer will apply to the first 3 Rooster Card subscriptions. For any additional cards after this you can purchase an additional monthly subscription for £1.99 per month, per card. Take a look at our pricing for more information. Other fees may apply.

I don’t have a NatWest Group bank account, can I still take advantage of the NatWest Group subscription?

While getting up to 3 Rooster Card subscriptions for free is exclusive to our NatWest group customers, customers who have current accounts with different banks can still get a 1 month trial of the Rooster Card subscription, and once the free one month trial ends you will automatically move to the subscription plan you have chosen. Other fees may apply.

I’ve already paid for a yearly Rooster Card subscription, can I still get the free NatWest Group subscription?

Once you’ve connected your bank account to your Rooster Money account, your free subscription will automatically be added to the end of any current annual Rooster Card subscription you have. As soon as your paid subscription ends you’ll be moved straight over to your free subscription. Other fees may apply.

I have received a message saying that my Bank account was unable to be connected to my Rooster account - what do I do?

The details of your Rooster Money account must match your NatWest Group details. If your details don’t match, for example, if you’ve used a nickname when creating your Rooster Money account or you’ve connected with someone else’s bank account, then we might need more information from you to complete our security checks and update your account.

Please reach out to our Customer Service team either through in app chat or at hello@roostermoney.com and the team will be able to help you.

What if I leave my NatWest Group bank whilst I still have a Rooster Card with a free NatWest Group subscription?

As the free subscription (other fees may apply) is for NatWest Group customers only, if you close your NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster bank account then your free subscription will immediately end and you will be given the option to renew your subscription on either a paid monthly subscription.
