What is the NatWest Group current account customer offer?

Eligible NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank current account customers can get up to a Rooster Card free for 12 months for up to 3 kids.

What are the requirements for signing up to the offer?

To be eligible for the free 12-month Rooster Card offer, you must be a NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank current account holder, over 18, a UK resident, registered for either Mobile Banking or Online Banking, and with child(ren) between the ages of six and 17.

As a new customer, how do I connect my bank to my Rooster account?

You must be on version 9.3.0 of the NatWest Rooster Money app. you can check your current version from your Family Dashboard by tapping Menu, and then checking at the bottom on the Menu screen o see your app version. You can install the app update from the Apple App store or Google Play store.

Once you’ve downloaded the NatWest Rooster Money app, you will need to create an account for yourself and your family. Make sure that you sign up with your full legal name, so that we can match it to the legal name you used on your bank account.

As soon as you’ve created your Rooster Money account and added at least one Child profile, you can head to the Menu in the top right hand corner of the Parent Dashboard and select Rooster Card.

Once you’re on the ‘Choose Your Plan’ page, you’ll see the offer box and can tap to read about the offer in more detail. Select the Bank that you want to connect your Rooster Money account to and follow the steps to connect your Bank.

You’ll be directed to your online banking app to confirm the connection, and once you’re back on the Rooster Money app you’ll be able to get the Rooster Card free for 12 months for up to 3 kids.

As an existing Rooster customer, How do I connect my bank to my Rooster account?

If you are already a Rooster Money customer, with an active Rooster Card in your family, you can still connect your bank to your Rooster Money app. Once you open your app, you can head to the Menu in the top right hand corner of the Parent Dashboard and select Rooster Card. You will see the offer box on the top of your screen and can tap to read about the offer in more detail.

Select the Bank that you want to connect your Rooster Money account to and follow the steps to connect your Bank.

You’ll be directed to your online banking app to confirm the connection, and once you’re back on the Rooster Money app, you’ll see that a free 12 months have been added to the end of your existing Rooster Card subscriptions.

If you’re a Rooster Money customer but you’ve never had a Rooster Card in your family before, you can still tap the Menu and select Rooster Card to find the offer box in the ‘Choose your Plan’ page and follow the steps from there to connect your Bank. Once the connection to your Bank has been successfully made, when you are returned to the app you’ll be able to get the Rooster Card free for 12 months for up to 3 kids.

I don’t have a NatWest Group Bank account, but the secondary parent/guardian on my account does, can we still take advantage of the offer?

Absolutely. The Secondary on your account can login to their app, head to the Menu in the top right hand corner of the Parent Dashboard, tap on ‘Manage Account’ and then tap on ‘Connect to Bank’. From there, they can select their Bank and follow the steps to connect their bank to your Rooster Money account. Once the connection has successfully been made, your secondary won’t be able to order the free Rooster Cards for your family. Only a Primary Parent, can order the free Rooster Cards. Just open your app (make sure it’s refreshed), and tap ‘Order card’ next to your child to redeem their free Card.

Do I still get a one month free trial?

Yes. Once you’ve successfully connected your bank account and created your Rooster Card subscription you’ll still get a one month free trial to try out all the Rooster Card benefits, once this ends you’ll automatically be moved over to your 12 month free plan.

What if I need a Rooster Card for more than 3 children?

The offer will apply to the first 3 Rooster Card subscriptions. For any additional cards after this you can purchase an additional monthly subscription. Take a look at our pricing for more information.

I’m not with NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank, but my bank is part of the NatWest Banking Group, can I connect?

At the moment, this offer is only available to NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank customers, but we’re working closely with the NatWest Group to get as many families involved with Rooster Money as possible.

I don’t have a NatWest Group bank account, can I still take advantage of the offer?

Whilst getting the Rooster Card free for 12 months is an exclusive offer to our NatWest group customers, customers who have current accounts with different banks can still get a 1 month free trial of the Rooster Card.

I’ve already paid for a yearly Rooster Card subscription, can I still get the free offer?

Once you’ve connected your bank account to your Rooster Money account, your free 12 months will automatically be added to the end of any current annual Rooster Card subscription you have. As soon as your paid subscription ends you’ll be moved straight over to your free 12 month offer.

I have received a message saying that my Bank account was unable to be connected to my Rooster account - what do I do?

The details of your Rooster Money account must match your NatWest Group details. If your details don’t match, for example, if you’ve used a nickname when creating your Rooster Money account or you’ve connected with someone else’s bank account then we might need more information from you to complete our security checks and update your account.

What happens after the offer ends?

Once your free 12 months offer ends, you’ll be moved over to the paid monthly Rooster Card subscription.

What if I want to cancel my Rooster Card during the offer?

If you decide to cancel your Rooster Card subscription, you can do so by tapping on ‘Rooster Card’ from your Menu or by going to ‘Manage Subscriptions’ from ‘Manage Account’. From here you can edit an existing subscription where you will see the option to cancel your subscription. By canceling, your subscription won’t renew at the end of its term. You’ll still be able to use your card until the end of your free offer, or until the end of the one month trial, if you cancel whilst you’re still in trial. Once this ends your Rooster Card subscription will be canceled.

What if I leave my NatWest Group bank during the offer period?

As this is an offer for NatWest Group customers only, if you close your NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster bank account during your free 12 months, then your free Rooster Card subscription will immediately end and you will be given the option to renew your subscription on either a monthly or annual subscription.
