Third Party Access: Alexa and IFTTT

No longer using Alexa or IFTTT with RoosterMoney? Want to revoke Alexa's or IFTTT's third party permissions? Find out how to do this here.

Updated over a week ago

Note: You will need to have RoosterMoney app version 7.7.0 or higher to view and manage third party permissions

When you link a third party app to your RoosterMoney account, they need access to your data on RoosterMoney to be able to perform additional services for you.

You can now manage third party permissions directly in the RoosterMoney app and revoke access if needed. We will never share your data with other parties without your consent.

To manage your third party permissions, just follow the steps below:

  1. Tap on the Menu icon in the top right of the family dashboard

  2. Tap on Manage Account

  3. Scroll down and tap on Third party permissions

  4. From here, if your RoosterMoney is connected to any third parties, you’ll be able to view and manage any existing permissions granted

  5. If you tap on the third party app (e.g. IFTTT or Alexa) you can also view the details of the data shared by tapping on “What data am I sharing?”

  6. If you’d like to stop sharing your data, just tap on “Disable access” at the bottom of the screen. Please note: Disabling third party access will result in the third party app no longer syncing/working with RoosterMoney. You can reinstate this from the third party app at any point.

Question: What sort of data can the third party access from RoosterMoney?

Answer: It varies with each third party; however, some examples of what they may access are: your basic profile information to authenticate your account, the names of your family members, your children’s pot balances and transactions. If you’d like a full list of what each third party can access, just follow the steps above.
