What are Custom Pots?

Find out more about Savings pots and how to use them here!

Updated over a month ago

There are two types of Custom Pots you can choose from:

Savings - If your child is saving up for something special you can use a savings pot to track how well they're doing against their goal amount. Savings pots are great for learning to budget as well as general saving.

Rewards - This virtual sticker chart lets you agree on an action/behaviour that you want from your child, and the reward they'll get as a result. Once full, your child can earn a special reward set by you.

To add a new custom pot:

  1. From their dashboard tap '+ Add Pot'

  2. Select between Savings and Reward

Savings Pot

  • Start by giving the pot a name. This could be something special your child is saving for Eg Holiday

  • You can then choose a colour to help this stand out on your child's dashboard

  • You now have the option to add a photo. This can be either from your camera roll or choosing an image from the Natwest Rooster Money Library.

Add a Goal

  • You can now enter the goal amount. Your child will be able to view this and see how they are doing as soon as they open their app.

If you have an Active Subscription

  • If you have an active subscription you will now have the option to add your own interest rate. This will reward your child for any money saved in this pot. PLEASE NOTE Any interest is paid automatically from the parent account.

Once these steps are completed you can review your Savings Pot and click create.

Reward Pot

  • Start by typing the action or behaviour your child will earn stickers for. Eg Being kind, brushing teeth

  • Add the reward your child will earn. Eg Movie night, ice cream, a surprise.

  • You can now choose to add a photo. This can be either from taking a photo, selecting from your camera roll or choosing an image from the Natwest Rooster Money Library.

  • You can then choose a colour to help this stand out on your child's dashboard

  • You can now choose a sticker for your child's chart

  • You will now be able to choose how many stickers your child is aiming for

Once these steps are completed you can review your Custom Pot and click create.
