How to make decisions on previous allowances

Forgotten to make a decision on a previous allowance period? Find out how to go back to a past allowance period and action it.

Updated over a week ago

Note: You’ll need to be using version 7.1.0 or higher in order to access calendar view to be able to view past weeks/allowance periods.

You can go back to previous allowance periods to make decisions on past allowance.

To do this, follow the steps below:

  • Tap on the ‘Chores’ icon on your child’s tile from the main family dashboard

  • Tap on the date range showing at the top of their list

  • Here you can scroll down to select previous chore periods and make a decision on the allowance

Once you’ve selected a past chore period, you can then make a decision on any allowance periods that haven’t been decided on yet. Any allowance periods that have actions outstanding will be shown in red so you can quickly see which past allowance periods need actioning

Note: It's only possible to action chores in allowance periods where the allowance has not yet been decided. This means that if you have already made a decision on your child’s and you wish to change the amount they were paid, you will need to use the Boost ‘+’ or Remove ‘-’ on your child’s tile to change the amount they were given. You can add a customised note so your child knows why their balance has changed.

Question: How do I change my child’s allowance?

Answer: You can view/edit your child’s allowance by tapping on their tile on the main family dashboard, then tap the settings cog in the top right and scroll down to “[child’s name]’s Settings.” From here just tap “Allowance Settings” and you can edit the amount or date the allowance is delivered or pause the allowance, just remember to tap “Save” in the top right if you’ve made any changes. For more information check out our help guide here.

Question: How can I set my child to receive their allowance automatically each week?

Answer: If you’d prefer for your child to receive their full allowance, even if their chores haven’t been completed, you’ll need to change their Chore Setting to “Give full Allowance.” For more information check out our help guide here.
