How can I remove money from my child's account?

Updated over a month ago

A remove is a one-off debit from the Rooster Card or any Rooster Money pots.

You can remove money either from the Family Dashboard screen, or from the Pot itself.

To remove via the Family Dashboard:

  • Tap the minus (-) sign next to your child's profile

  • Select the Pot you want to remove funds from

  • Enter the value you want to remove and tap Save and then Next

  • You can enter a reason or choose from the list

  • Tap Remove

To remove via the Pot:

  • From the Family Dashboard, tap your child's name to see their account

  • Select the Pot you want to remove funds from

  • Tap on the quick actions icon (...) in the bottom right corner and select Remove

  • Enter the value you want to remove and tap Save and then Next

  • You can enter a reason or choose from the list

  • Tap Remove

Once I've removed funds from a Pot where do the funds go?

Real money funds held on the Rooster Card, or in a Pot held by a child with their own Rooster Card, will go back into the Parent Account once they've been removed.

I've removed funds from a Pot but it's just disappeared?

Real Money funds are always removed back to the Parent Account. If you have removed funds and the funds have disappeared, then you have removed funds from a child on our free Tracker version of the app. All of the funds in these accounts are a virtual tracking balance, and do not go anywhere once removed - removing funds from these accounts will only reduce the balance.
